Thames to Tauranga
The second stage after school Wayne and Ruth drove me to meet Rachel inTauranga. She treat me Chinese food and I learned a lot from her.

Yaju and Rachel are trying to get Yaju's blogger account working. Now we are trying to install blogger on Yaju's phone. Aaah so complicated!

Today I Wayne and Ruth took me to Tauranga where I met Rachel. There was a beautiful full moon on the Tauranga harbour. We drove down to Matata and had Chinese takeaways for tea!

We are enjoying the opportunity to host Yaju in our classrooms.Today Yaju spent the morning in Room 7. She learnt some Maori and taught the students some simple
Chinese sentences. After break Yaju and the school went to a show called the N.E.D show. N.E.D stands for Never give up, Encourage others and Do you best. Here are some photos of her in Room 7 and at the Ned show:

Visits Moanataiari
Yaju Cheng is a Chinese English teacher. Ella, Keely and Jenny are the ambassadors for this week. Here are some photos of her with Keely and Jenny taken during their tour of Moanataiari School...

Monday: Yaju Cheng spent the start of the day in Room 9.
The students had lots of questions about Beijing.
We learned, "Zao Shang Hao" means, "Good morning."
After interval Yaju Cheng visited Room 6. And enjoyed interacting with younger students and seeing what happens in a New Zealand Classroom.
After lunch today Yaju Cheng visited Room 2. She answered lots of questions and taught them some counting in Chinese.
Tuesday morning Yaju Cheng will be visiting Thames High School.
She will be staying here at Moanataiari School until Thursday.

We are very excited waiting for Yaju to come and visit us in New Zealand. Keep watching this blog to find out about our China-Kiwi adventures!
This blog is to celebrate China-Kiwi friendships and to tell the story of Yaju, our Chinese teacher's visit to New Zealand. Yaju will be spending a month in NZ and will be staying with VLN Primary Schools' Moanataiari in Thames, Oakura in Taranaki, Apiti in Manawatu, and Halfmoon Bay School in Stewart Island.
